SS Trading Co., Ltd. (the “Company”) recognizes the importance of the personal information it handles, complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (the “Personal Information Protection Act”) and other relevant laws and regulations, and appropriately handles personal information in accordance with the following policy.

1. Definition of Personal Information

In this Policy, “Personal Information” means personal information as defined in the Personal Information Protection Act — namely, information relating to a living individual that can identify the specific individual by name, date of birth, or other descriptions contained in the information (including information that can be readily collated with other information and thereby identify the specific individual), or that contains an individual identification code.

2. Compliance with Relevant Laws and Regulations

In handling personal information, the Company complies with the Personal Information Protection Act, related guidelines, and other applicable norms.

3. Purpose of Use

The Company uses the personal information it acquires within the scope of the following purposes:

  1. To respond to and answer inquiries, requests, and consultations;
  2. To provide information about the Company’s products and services (including the export of automotive parts and used vehicles);
  3. To communicate with business partners, perform contracts, manage transactions, and otherwise conduct transactions smoothly;
  4. To verify identity and confirm that a party is not an anti-social force;
  5. To improve the quality of the Company’s services, develop new services, and conduct market research and analysis;
  6. To communicate and provide information regarding recruitment screening and hiring activities;
  7. For purposes incidental to each of the purposes of use above.

4. Provision to Third Parties

Except in any of the following cases, the Company will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the prior consent of the individual:

  1. When required by laws and regulations;
  2. When necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent;
  3. When especially necessary to improve public health or promote the sound development of children and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent;
  4. When it is necessary to cooperate with a state organ, a local government, or a party entrusted by either in carrying out affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the individual’s consent is likely to impede the execution of such affairs;
  5. When the Company entrusts the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use (see Section 6).

5. Provision to Third Parties in Foreign Countries

Owing to the nature of its automotive parts and used vehicle export business, the Company may provide personal information to business partners and affiliates in foreign countries (such as customs brokers, shipping companies, and local dealers) for purposes such as performing contracts, customs clearance, transportation, and payment settlement. In such cases, the Company takes the measures required under the Personal Information Protection Act.

6. Entrustment of the Handling of Personal Information

The Company may entrust all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use. In such cases, the Company conducts appropriate due diligence on the entrusted party and takes necessary measures such as concluding an entrustment agreement and exercising appropriate supervision.

7. Security Control Measures

The Company takes necessary and appropriate measures for the security control of personal information, including the prevention of leakage, loss, or damage of personal information, and exercises necessary and appropriate supervision over employees and entrusted parties who handle personal information.

8. Ensuring the Accuracy of Personal Information

The Company strives to keep personal information accurate and up to date within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use.

9. Requests for Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, etc.

When an individual makes a request under the Personal Information Protection Act for notification of the purpose of use of retained personal data, disclosure, correction, addition, or deletion of its content, suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of provision to third parties (collectively, “Disclosure, etc.”), the Company will, after confirming that the requester is the individual, respond without delay in accordance with laws and regulations. Requests for Disclosure, etc. should be made to the contact point in Section 12.

10. Use of Cookies and Access Analysis Tools

On its website, the Company may use cookies and “Google Analytics” provided by Google LLC in order to improve the convenience of its services and to analyze access status.

  • Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about users. This information is collected anonymously and does not identify individuals.
  • For the handling of the information collected, please refer to the Google Analytics Terms of Service and Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Users can refuse the collection of this information by disabling cookies in their browser settings. Users can also stop the collection of data by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

11. Continuous Improvement of the Personal Information Protection Policy

The Company reviews the status of its handling of personal information as appropriate, strives for continuous improvement, and may change this Policy as necessary. Any changes take effect from the time they are posted on this website.
